Dawn celebrates the sweetness and possibility of new beginnings, summer gardens, and the vibrancy of  life in bloom. Anaïs Nin wrote, “And the time came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” This piece began with a simple invitation to open to a joyful, warm palette inspired by nature and light. It has areas suggestive of various stages of growth - both dry or moist, dull or vibrant - and reconciling all of these qualities, honoring Lucius Annaeus Seneca’s philosophy, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.”
