It takes courage and commitment to love with true reciprocity, to allow uncertainty to unfold, with vulnerability and willingness. Honesty, respect, and support cultivate contentment. Redamancy – to fully return love that is given – can be motivating and elusive. Redamancy is a deep value for me – authentic connection available through genuine friendship, devoted parenting, or chosen partnership. We are learning that love and suffering dance intimately, digesting the language that grief is love with nowhere to go. This canvas supported waves of inquiry and emotion as I reflected on thirty years of relationship, more than twenty years of motherhood, and all the inevitable changes that come from the evolution of our selves. The rosy palette of this piece maintains my wistful belief that love in the fullness of its forms does indeed taste sweet and blush with delight. Grounded by neutrals, warm, pulsating passages suggest the potential of healthy love as an earthy connection of hearts finding blessing and belonging.
